The Role Success will depend on an ability to understand and hire staff for both food service and restaurant roles generally and Chef‑owners needs specifically, developing innovative ways to attract, vet, and manage a pipeline of job applicants, and creating a strong network for recruitment lead generation. A deep understanding of the food service and restaurant industry are strongly encouraged. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The right fit should be someone who is outgoing, likes to think without restraints, and have a solutions‑oriented mindset. This person should have a desire to support the goals of Chefs in building and growing their business on the CU platform as well as a passion for food and cooking This is a full‑time role. Key Responsibilities Lead and support hiring of kitchen staff for CookUnity Platform Chef teams Manage daily and weekly workflows, improve pace and efficiency of talent acquisition and retention in partnership with Chef‑owners and Chef and Menu Success location leads Establish fluid communication channels and work cross‑functionally with both internal and external teams (platform chefs are independent contractors) Develop systems and processes for organizing a pool of applicants, matching the right applicants with the right roles, and prioritizing hiring needs based on a variety of factors including new market openings, Chef's onboarding status, etc. Build and evolve relationships with Chef‑owners, who have a wealth of experience in hiring for these roles, to gain insights into what works and what needs improvement Collaborate with CookUnity's internal People team to develop a singular vision on hiring best practices, insights, and learnings Coordinate in‑person tours, interviews, hiring events with local CookUnity teams or Chef‑owners Qualifications A minimum of 2 years experience – preferably within the past year, with knowledge of a very dynamic job market during the pandemic – as a hiring manager in a restaurant group or other food service business, hourly‑employee recruitment, human resources, talent retention or similar field in the foodservice sector Some knowledge of commercial and large‑scale kitchen operations Experience with G‑Suite and recruitment or project management tools Ability to work well in the fast‑paced environment of our quickly growing business Excellent problem‑solving capabilities Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
