The Role As a Senior IT System Engineer at Medallia, you will collaborate with internal or external vendor teams to create seamless infrastructure experiences across our IT cloud presence, data centers, systems, and networks to provide our end‑user community a secure, highly performant, and consistent user experience across the globe. Responsibilities Key contributor in developing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the IT team while being a thought leader in architecting, designing, building, and maintaining complex systems (Azure, Active Directory, SSO platforms, VMware, storage and compute platforms). Work closely with the Network and IT security services. Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, information security and the rest of the company to align against goals, roadmap, and commitments. Translate business requirements, design and drive the execution plan for delivering high‑quality output on time. Hands‑on in building a high‑performing world‑class IT practice and providing opportunities for team members to grow. Develop and update online support documentation and troubleshoot systems and applications issues, including L3 and above protocols. Bring a quality‑first and innovative mindset; present on various subjects with confidence and persuasion to technical and business stakeholders. Play strategic and hands‑on roles in delivering technical solutions. Work onsite at our office as needed; otherwise work flexibly. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience in a hands‑on technical role working on architecture & deployment in corporate backend systems: Windows Server and/or Linux, SSO (SAML), PKI, compute, storage, virtualization, virtual desktops, etc. 5+ years of experience building and maintaining external services including cloud and SaaS services. Demonstrated understanding of Layer 2–3 technologies and Layer 4–7 (HTTP, DNS, TCP, ARP, SSL, TLS) troubleshooting. Ability to work from the office as needed and travel to various global offices for projects. English proficiency, both written and oral. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an end‑to‑end project and support role for an entire enterprise ecosystem. 3+ years of Windows Server and/or Linux Systems Administration. Scripting and/or automation (Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Bash, Salt, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar). Experience managing within an ITIL based service delivery model. Proficiency working within a fast‑paced, flat, agile, and distributed environment. Proficiency in understanding and incorporating network technologies such as ZTNA, SD‑WAN, routing, switching. Wireless optimization and security technologies like firewalls, CASB, etc. Windows 365 and similar Cloud VDI technologies. Experience maintaining and supporting Jira & GitHub Enterprise.
