Payment Allocation Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and process-driven Payment Allocation Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term project role (with potential extension). The focus of this position is to design, improve, and partially automate payment allocation processes for B2B customers in LATAM, ensuring higher data quality, smoother reconciliation workflows with local payment agents, and earlier detection of missing or incomplete payment details. This role emphasizes operational excellence, data accuracy, and cross-team collaboration rather than commercial or sales functions. You will work closely with Treasury, Accounting, and Commercial teams to drive process improvements, implement automation, and deliver reliable reconciliation practices that directly impact efficiency and performance. Responsibilities Data Template Standardization : Improve and maintain the payment data template to ensure all partner-provided details are captured and retained. Automation of Payment Allocations : Support initial allocations and development/maintenance of automation for cash allocation from payment agent settlements into accounting and internal systems, including accrual postings and reconciliations. Partner Data Quality Improvement : Develop and maintain an enhanced payment-instruction guide for Account Managers to share with partners, minimizing manual data searches and allocation delays. Alerts & Monitoring Setup : Create and implement early-warning mechanisms to flag missing or incomplete payment data, enabling quick follow-up by Account Managers. Process Optimization : Identify inefficiencies in allocation/reconciliation workflows and propose practical, scalable improvements. Requirements Relevant Experience : 2+ years of successful experience in operations or payments, ideally with exposure to LATAM payment systems; accounting experience is an advantage. Education : Bachelor’s degree in related field. Process Improvement : Strong background in workflow optimization, with experience in financial reporting tools considered a plus. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with strong attention to detail in numbers and data formatting. Personal Skills : Proactive, ambitious, and results-driven, with strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Comfortable with innovative technology and thriving in a fast-paced, evolving business environment. International Mindset : Capable of collaborating effectively across different cultural contexts, reflecting ETG’s global presence and diverse team.
