Overview Modern Device Management Specialist – EY Global Delivery Services We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Modern Device Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in SCCM architecture and hierarchy, advanced troubleshooting abilities, and proven proficiency in SQL, PowerShell, and Power BI. The candidate should have intermediate (L2) knowledge of Microsoft Intune and basic (L1) understanding of Microsoft Entra Application Proxy concepts. Responsibilities Design, implement, and optimize SCCM architecture and hierarchy for large-scale environments. Perform advanced troubleshooting of complex SCCM and Intune related issues, including client/server communication, software distribution, patch management, and compliance settings. Manage SCCM site servers, site roles, and maintain the overall health of the SCCM infrastructure. Develop and automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Utilize SQL Server for custom queries, report generation, and database maintenance to support operational and management reporting needs. Leverage Power BI to develop dashboards and visualize key SCCM / Intune metrics for various stakeholders. Implement, monitor, and support SCCM Co-management for hybrid management of devices, ensuring seamless operation between SCCM and Intune environments. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) in SCCM to enable secure management of internet-based clients. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with Intune for co-management scenarios, providing L2-level support for Intune-related issues. Assist in the deployment and configuration of devices using Intune, including enforcing compliance policies and security baselines. Troubleshoot Intune-related issues such as device enrolment, application deployment, and profile configuration. Support integration of Intune with SCCM for hybrid management scenarios and ensure smooth transition and coexistence of devices. Offer L1-level guidance and basic support for Microsoft Entra Application Proxy, ensuring secure access to on-premises applications as needed. Provide guidance on configuring and maintaining Microsoft Entra Application Proxy connectors for secure remote access to on-premises applications. Monitor and report on the health and performance of Microsoft Entra Application Proxy connections, escalating issues as needed. Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and process compliance. Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for L1/L2 support teams. Required Skills and Experience Extensive hands-on experience with SCCM and Intune, including designing and maintaining architecture and hierarchy in complex environments. In-depth understanding of SCCM components such as distribution points, management points, site systems, boundary groups, and client deployment. Expert-level troubleshooting of SCCM and Intune deployment, patching, Windows Update for Business, Application delivery, and Compliance management. Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting. Solid command of SQL Server for creating queries, custom reports, and maintaining SCCM database health. Experience developing visualizations and dashboards in Power BI. Intermediate (L2) experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management in hybrid or cloud environments. Basic (L1) familiarity with Microsoft Entra Application Proxy concepts and ability to provide front-line support. Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and provide mentorship to junior team members. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, or equivalent are preferred. Minimum 10 years of hands-on SCCM (Intune) administration and support in a large-scale enterprise environment. Demonstrated experience with PowerShell, SQL Server, and Power BI tools.
