This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Backend Engineer Junior (NodeJS) in Latin America. As a Backend Engineer Junior, you will play a key role in building scalable and robust server-side solutions for diverse projects. You will work closely with a global team of developers, collaborating on the design, implementation, and deployment of backend services. This position provides hands‑on experience with NodeJS and NestJS, while also exposing you to modern development practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and message queue systems. You will contribute to high‑quality code, gain exposure to agile methodologies, and develop the technical skills necessary to advance in backend engineering. Accountabilities Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using NodeJS and NestJS. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement scalable APIs and server‑side logic. Participate in code reviews, ensuring high‑quality, maintainable, and testable code. Assist with integrating message queues like RabbitMQ and containerization tools such as Docker. Work within agile frameworks, following Scrum practices and contributing to sprint planning and daily stand‑ups. Support deployment and CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitLab, maintaining smooth release processes. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Backend Developer with NodeJS, preferably using NestJS. Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript. Familiarity with Docker, RabbitMQ, and cloud‑based backend environments is a plus. Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira. Understanding of agile development principles and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn. Effective communication skills in English or Spanish for remote collaboration.
