Mongodb Database Support Engineer (Remote) If you are passionate about MongoDB, love helping customers succeed, and want to play a critical role in the evolution of technical support for open source databases, Percona’s MongoDB Engineer position was made for you. You will serve on the front line, providing customers with best‑of‑breed professional technical support services for MongoDB, resolving complex problems for demanding deployments and business needs. At the same time, you will form the backbone of our MongoDB support organization, assisting fellow support engineers and leading the way in blogging and support content creation, collaborating with other departments, and having a direct, positive impact on our product strategy. Responsibilities Serve as a frontline support engineer, delivering expert technical assistance to customers. Resolve complex MongoDB issues in a variety of environments, including on‑premises, cloud, and containerized deployments. Assist other support engineers, create and maintain support content, and contribute to the broader support strategy. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence product direction and improve customer experience. Qualifications (Required) Excellent knowledge of RDBMS and MongoDB, including configuration, best practices, schema design, performance tuning, query and index optimization, backup solutions, replica set and sharding topologies, engine selection, monitoring requirements, and Linux administration. Experience with virtualized environments such as VMWare, Docker, and/or Kubernetes. Knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, and/or Azure). Methodical troubleshooting skills with the ability to think outside the box for complex issues. Enthusiasm to expand skill set with new technologies. Availability to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, and customer visits. Experience working with customers in English. Completed MongoDB University courses. What Will Make You Stand Out Percona Backup for MongoDB proficiency. Experience with MongoDB Atlas. PostgreSQL DBA troubleshooting (basic level or higher). Experience with Nagios, Percona Monitoring Plugins, and other monitoring tools. Experience with configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Use of Percona Toolkit suite. Proficiency in Python and Golang preferred. Hands‑on experience with MySQL (minimum 2+ years).
