Senior Paralegal

Sr Corporate Paralegal – IP & Procurement Assurant is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Paralegal to provide high-level support to the Legal Department, focusing on intellectual property (IP) portfolio management and procurement contract support. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep experience in corporate governance, IP filings, and vendor contract lifecycle management. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? Manage daily tasks to meet the demands of the Legal & Compliance department, and specifically the IP & Procurement practice group, including drafting various types of third‑party contracts, including master agreements, statements of work, renewals, amendments, and terminations with minimal oversight by the Lead Attorneys of the IP and Procurement practice group. Perform research, compile and analyze data, and provide recommendations in response to internal and external requests. Partner with the attorneys in the Legal & Compliance department to assist with various corporate governance projects or initiatives, including ideas for projects to enhance the IP & Procurement practicegroup’s standards and procedures. Perform minor administrative tasks for the IP & Procurement practice group, which may include calendaring events, expense reimbursement, booking travel, and other administrative matters. What are the requirements needed for this position? Minimum of 6 years of corporate paralegal experience required (ideally within the legal department of a public company or insurance company) or a law firm Bachelor’s degree or ABA‑approved paralegal certification Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and use of computer‑based research tools and resources Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization internally and externally Highly autonomous and self‑motivated work ethic; demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency Demonstrate an ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature, and the capacity to maintain composure while working under pressure Strong ability to manage/lead projects At Assurant, we celebrate the differences that make us who we are.
