Fordham University: Office of the Provost: Arts & Sciences: Communication and Media Studies Location: Rose Hill and Lincoln Center Campus Open Date: Sep 13, 2023 Salary Range (Pay Grade): $8,798 Description This is an ongoing ad for part‑time faculty within the department*. Duties The Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University seeks experienced, qualified instructors to undertake teaching and related duties across our undergraduate and masters programs. Communication and Culture Digital Technology and Emerging Media Film and Television Studies Journalism Masters in Public Media Teaching takes place in person at the university’s Rose Hill campus (Bronx) or Lincoln Center (Manhattan). In most cases a pre‑existing syllabus is available for instructors to use. Classes typically meet twice a week for 75 minutes, with some evening and production classes meeting once a week for 2½ hours. Instructors are required to hold regular weekly office hours, which may be conducted remotely. Class enrollment sizes usually range from 15–35 students. Part‑time faculty are represented by Fordham Faculty United, part of the SEIU Union. A collective bargaining agreement between FFU and Fordham University is in place and can be viewed here. Qualifications Master’s degree in a cognate subject (preferred PhD or enrollment in a PhD program) Minimum of two (2) years of relevant teaching experience in higher education Application Instructions The Department of Communication and Media Studies has moved to using Interfolio to support its hiring requirements.
