ABOUT THIS ROLE We are seeking a Staff Accountant for the Money Transfer Segment requiring involvement with the local subsidiary in Argentina. The Staff Accountant will work under the supervision of the Finance Controller and play a key role in maintaining reports, records, general ledgers, perform general bookkeeping, and assisting with internal/external audits. This position requires someone with attention to detail, organizational skills, critical thinking, analytical skills, proactive, strong work ethic with ability to work extended hours during critical periods, good communication skills and able to handle large sets of data. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Handle the full accounts payable cycle of gathering the vendor invoices, review and control of amounts being invoiced are correct – this will require follow up with vendor when applicable, entering the invoices in a local external accounting system (Finegans), coordinate the accounting entries in the corporate accounting system with the Accounts Payable department, review the accounting entries for correctness, calculate the corresponding withholding for impuesto de ganancia, upload the transfers in the banking platform, download the payment confirmations & withholding receipts, enter the accounting entries to update the bank accounting account. Daily review, analysis, and forecast of cash flow. Coordinate CCL operations with the corresponding departments when cash is low. Daily review and analysis of the independent agent network accounts receivables and coordinate with corresponding departments if the agents have not settled. Daily review of the bank reconciliations which are prepared by another department. This will require preparing accounting entries for bank movement and in some cases following up with internal and external personnel. Weekly review of the over and shortages from store tellers. Monthly preparation of month end accounting entries, amortizations and accruals. Monthly review and preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Monthly review of the income statement to ensure all expenses have been accounted. Send monthly commission reports to the independent agents via email. Assist in registering new points of sale in AFIP, Facturante (electronic invoicing platform), and with the Bank. Monthly preparation of corporate variance templates. Assist customer care with downloading payment confirmations for payments made to beneficiaries (Money Transfer operation). Assist with internal and external audits POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field of study 1-3 years' experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the financial services or money transfer industry Familiarity with bank reconciliation is desirable Strong understanding of accounting principles in Argentina Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication skills to interact with other teams and external stakeholders Bilingual candidate (manage of Spanish and English) Must be able to work a hybrid schedule M-F (9am -6pm) PERKS & BENEFITS Hybrid Work Schedule (3x2) Day off for birthday OSDE All legal obligations and benefits Ria Money Transfer is an equal opportunity employer.
