The Associate Lead Analyst 2 will be responsible for the credit risk analysis of local and regional governments in accordance with the relevant methodology as well as potential exposure to structured finance transactions and mutual funds. The role will focus primarily on surveillance activities of outstanding ratings of entities from these relevant sectors in the domestic markets. This role also requires interactions with external market participants, including issuers and investors, as well as leading related research activities. The Associate Lead Analyst 2 role will focus on multiple industries and there is the potential for cross‑training, in supporting varying portfolios and methodologies. Key Responsibilities Actively monitor the portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion. Perform holistic analysis of issuers and market following relevant Moody’s Local methodologies. Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent rating rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion while leading the committee discussion. Effectively and persuasively communicate credit knowledge and rating analysis rationale in both written and oral form. Develop and maintain an understanding of complex cash flow analysis and modeling tools. Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector related issues that is in‑depth, high quality, insightful and focused. Build and maintain high‑profile relationships with investors, advisors, and issuers. Coach and develop more junior analysts. Qualifications and Experience Undergraduate degree required with minimum 3 years relevant work experience. Graduate/second‑level degree (Masters, MBA nice to have) and/or progress toward completion of CFA preferred. Proven credit experience e.g. at a bank, corporate, or investor (in related field) preferred . Knowledge of cash flow modeling and financial data analysis related to structured finance and subsovereign issuers. Solid verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills in Spanish. Intermediate English speaking and writing capabilities. Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
