The Marketing Manager for Syneos Health Communications plays a key role in developing and executing strategic communications initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and growth objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, the Manager serves as both a strategist and hands‑on implementer, responsible for planning, creating, and managing internal and external communications programs that strengthen Syneos Health Communications and its agency brands. This position is ideal for a high‑energy, collaborative communications professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings strong editorial, writing, and thought leadership expertise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Communications Partner with the VP of Marketing and PR to translate corporate goals and leadership vision into actionable communications strategies and deliverables. Develop and implement an integrated communications plan that supports business growth, reputation enhancement, and employee engagement. Conduct ongoing assessment of communications activities across the organization to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Thought Leadership & Editorial Management Lead the development and execution of the thought leadership program, including the creation and management of editorial calendars. Research, write, and edit high‑quality content such as articles, interviews, Q&As, blogs, and whitepapers to elevate Syneos Health Communications’ industry voice. Collaborate with internal experts, leadership, and external contributors to identify and showcase timely insights and perspectives. Help manage relationships with trade publications and media outlets to secure placements and visibility. Internal & Executive Communications Draft and edit internal messages, leadership updates, and presentations that promote alignment and reinforce company culture. Support executive communications for internal and external engagements, including speeches, presentations, and conference materials. Ensure consistency of messaging and tone across all communication touchpoints. Digital & Social Media Oversee social media strategy, content development, and community engagement for Syneos Health Communications. Manage editorial calendars, ensuring alignment with thought leadership and campaign objectives. Track performance analytics and identify opportunities to enhance visibility and engagement. Media Relations & Reputation Management Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, managing proactive and reactive media relations activities. Monitor industry and media coverage to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and inform future communications. Support reputation management initiatives tied to corporate responsibility and brand integrity. Oversee communications and marketing projects from conception through implementation, ensuring on‑time and on‑brand delivery. Manage relationships with agencies, vendors, and freelancers, ensuring quality and alignment with organizational goals. Short‑Term Goals Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current communications efforts to establish near‑term priorities. Provide immediate support on executive communications, presentations, and thought leadership initiatives. Long‑Term Goals Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive, scalable communications plan supporting long‑term growth. Strengthen the company’s industry presence through consistent thought leadership and media engagement. Build processes and frameworks that enable continued alignment, efficiency, and measurable results. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. 5–10+ years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations roles, ideally within mid‑ to large‑sized organizations or agencies. Demonstrated success leading editorial and thought leadership programs. Proven experience managing both internal and external communications functions. Healthcare or life sciences industry experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong attention to detail. Strategic thinker who can translate complex concepts into clear, compelling messages. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Collaborative team player who influences effectively across levels and functions. Proficient in digital and social media management tools.
