Responsibilities Manage and maintain Azure SQL and Cosmos DB databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance. Administer database security, including user access, authentication, and role-based permissions. Perform and verify regular backups and restores to ensure data integrity and recoverability. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance and operational issues. Implement and maintain database maintenance and monitoring plans. Continuously optimize performance through server, database, and query tuning. Configure and support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. Maintain comprehensive documentation for database standards, policies, and operational procedures. Provide recommendations to IT Management on performance, capacity planning, cost optimization, and upgrade strategies. Automate administrative and monitoring tasks using PowerShell and Azure Automation. Requirements Skills and Knowledge Azure SQL and Cosmos DB Azure Automation and PowerShell scripting Backup, HA/DR, and data retention practices Strong communication skills in English Experience and Education 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in cloud-based environments Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (on‑premises and cloud) and Azure Cosmos DB.
