Are you passionate about reliability, automation, and cloud infrastructure? Stack Builders could be the place for you We're an international software consultancy driven by innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
We're looking for a Senior DevOps & Cloud/SRE Engineer to build and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. You'll work across small to medium-sized projects, usually two to three at a time, so strong context-switching skills are essential. *IMPORTANT: To be considered for this position, your application and CV must be in English.
If you're passionate about this tech stack, you'll love the work:
- AWS resources: ECS, EC2, RDS, ALB, R53, IAM, CW, S3
- Github Actions or Circle CI
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
- Terraform
- Ansible
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar infrastructure-focused engineering role.
- Advanced spoken and written English skills.
- Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Bash, Python, Go, etc.), plus strong Linux troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience performing database changes and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Problem-solving skills, assertive communication, and a collaborative spirit.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing cloud environments (preferably AWS or GCP).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Solid understanding of system security, networking concepts, and automation practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, or other container-based solutions).
- Solid ability to manage databases effectively, perform updates, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring stability through well-defined short-, mid-, and long-term solutions.
- Extensive experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and GitOps automation practices.
- Promote and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including secrets management, identity access control, and vulnerability scanning.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks and production incidents to ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Advocate for automation, observability, and DevOps culture across client and internal projects.
- Continuously explore and recommend emerging technologies to enhance Stack Builders' and clients' operational excellence.
The projected hourly range for this position is $40.00 to $48.00, determined by the candidate's interview outcome, skills, experience, education, and alignment with market data.
