Customer Service Representative

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries for export cargo both via email and telephone. 
  • Create, amend or transfer export bookings utilizing appropriate Systems and Guidelines (OOCL, Commodity and Regulatory).  
  • Communicate cross functionally to manage customer expectation, equipment and space availability and escalate to direct management as required.
  • Invoice any additional charges incurred during shipment cycle.
  • Promote utilization of OOCL online tools. 
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of International Cargo Container Movement
  • US Regulatory Transportation Requirements (Customs, DOT, Hazardous, etc.)
  • Experience with Terminal and Rail Operations
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes
  • Works well in a team environment

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish

Operations Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile shipment information between terminal and internal corporate system to make an accurate Load List and submit it to relevant parties via email or EDI platform before vessel cutoff. 
  • Perform vessel cleanup after the vessel sails and communicate promptly with internal teams if any containers fail to load.
  • Monitor functional mailbox for tracing and handling exceptional cases such as Export Back Off (dray-off from terminal) and customs holds.
  • Monitor the functional mailbox and supplier portal chat message to ensure proper waybill is secured at rail road website; Resolve rail billing cases via emails, chat message or phone call.
  • Handle other vessel related terminal operation or intermodal related needs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

We use Import and Export forecasts to determine if assets are needed locally or should be repositioned to deficit areas regionally and overseas. Other responsibilities include coordination of off hire/sale unit terminations, monitoring depots for timely repairs of damaged units, holding depots accountable for inventory accuracy and releasing assets using FIFO (first in, first out) method.
