Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Drupal Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina. Our client is a rapidly growing leader in online training and live training across a wide range of industries and professions.

You'll be responsible for leading the upgrade of existing Drupal sites (from Drupal 9 to Drupal 10/11), refactoring legacy code, improving site performance, and ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and maintainability. The role involves technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams (designers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong knowledge of Drupal 9/10 core architecture, custom module/theme development, and Composer workflows.
• In-depth knowledge of Drupal APIs, Configuration Management, Entity API, and Migrate API.
• Experience with PHP 8+, Symfony, Twig, MySQL, Git, and Drush.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud hosting (AWS, Acquia).
• Expertise in performing data migration using the Migrate API and ensure data integrity and consistency of post-migration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, architect, and execute upgrades between major Drupal versions (D9 to D10/11).
• Conduct compatibility assessments for custom modules, themes, and contributed modules.
• Refactor or rewrite deprecated code and custom modules using Drupal's modern APIs and services.
• Audit the performance of the existing Drupal site, identifying bottlenecks in code, the database, or configuration.
• Optimize database queries, views, and entity loading for high-traffic scenarios.
• Improve frontend performance (lazy loading, image optimization, CSS/JavaScript aggregation, asset management).
• Apply best practices for Drupal's render pipeline and Twig templates to minimize performance overhead.
• Refactor legacy custom code to align with Drupal coding standards and object-oriented practices.
• Enforce SOLID principles, dependency injection, and service-oriented architecture within Drupal modules.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Maintain and improve site reliability, stability, and maintainability.
• Apply Drupal security best practices, including regularly updating the core and modules.
• Audit and fix vulnerabilities in custom and contributed modules.
• Implement access controls, sanitization, and protections against XSS/CSRF.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure secure hosting, SSL, and configuration management.
