Finance Controller

Remote position (only for professionals based in Argentina or Uruguay)
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead multiple client engagements, deliver timely and accurate financial information, and serve as a strategic partner to CEOs and executive teams for one of our clients. 
Financial Reporting & Monthly Close  Own and manage monthly close for multiple clients.  Prepare financial statements under U.S. GAAP or other required standards.  Analyze results , forecast, and prior periods.  Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense matching.  Produce organized, executive-ready financial packages. 
Accounting Operations Oversight  Oversee daily accounting operations, including:   Accounts payable and receivable   Payroll and related reconciliations   General ledger and account reconciliations   Chart of accounts design   Fixed assets and depreciation   Inventory and cost accounting (including landed costs)   Merchant and payment processor reconciliations   Equity and consolidation accounting   Revenue and lease accounting   Deferred revenue processes  Design and maintain scalable workflows for multi-entity and multi-client environments. 
Cash & Treasury Management  Monitor cash, burn rate, and liquidity across clients.  Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts.  Approve or oversee disbursements.  Support management of credit cards, lines of credit, and financing tools. 
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning  Build annual budgets and periodic forecasts.  Create financial models and scenario analyses.  Provide insights on performance and key metrics.  Advise leaders on pricing, hiring, and expansion decisions. 
Systems, Processes & Internal Controls  Implement and optimize accounting/ERP systems.  Oversee bill pay, expense management, and spend control tools.  Support inventory, order management, and payment system integrations.  Build and document scalable processes and internal controls.  Ensure audit readiness, data integrity, and compliance. 
Tax, Regulatory & Compliance  Oversee compliance activities (sales/use tax, payroll tax oversight, 1099s, franchise/state filings).  Coordinate with external tax advisors on income tax and credits.  Support regulatory adherence and audits or due diligence. 
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support  Act as a finance partner to founders and leaders.  Collaborate with CPAs, attorneys, lenders, and auditors.  Present financial results to non-finance stakeholders.  Guide and mentor accounting teams.  Translate complex financials into actionable recommendations. 
Strategic Financial Insight  Identify trends, risks, and opportunities.  Recommend cost savings and margin improvements.  Support pricing, product mix, hiring, and expansion decisions.  Promote data-driven decision-making. 
Equity & Stock-Based Compensation  Maintain and reconcile cap tables and equity records.  Ensure accurate accounting for stock-based compensation.  Track vesting schedules and support investor/audit requests.  
Customer-Service & Leadership Competencies  Deliver accurate work on time.  Communicate clearly and concisely.  Anticipate needs and propose proactive solutions.  Demonstrate professionalism and emotional intelligence.  Balance financial rigor with practical judgment.  Coach leaders on financial performance.  Produce CEO-ready outputs.  Prevent surprises through early risk identification.  Build systems that reduce bottlenecks.  Support positive team culture.  Industry Experience  Relevant (not required) experience includes: High-growth or early-stage companies Technology or software (including SaaS) Consumer products and CPG Biotech, life sciences, innovation-driven sectors E-commerce, online retail, digital marketplaces 
Qualifications
Required  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.  Extensive hands-on accounting experience; multi-entity or multi-client preferred.  Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.  Prior public accounting or audit exposure.  Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.  Excellent communication skills.  High professionalism and ownership mindset.  Ability to work independently in a remote U.S. environment.
