Overview of the Position

Otte Polo Group is looking for a Staff Accountant who thrives on structure, accuracy, and teamwork. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations across multiple U.S.-based brands.

You'll be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including reconciliations, entries, and reporting — ensuring that our financial data is timely, consistent, and reliable. We're looking for someone detail-oriented and proactive, who takes pride in doing things right the first time, meets deadlines, and brings ideas to make processes more efficient through automation or smarter routines.

You'll work closely with the Accounting Manager and other team members across countries in a fully remote environment, contributing to a department that's focused on rebuilding the basics, strengthening accuracy, and driving excellence in finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and data entry for multiple entities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end closings, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are met.
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules for management and audit purposes.
  • Assist in maintaining organized, well-documented records that meet compliance and audit standards.
  • Review invoices, receipts, and expense reports for accuracy and proper coding.
  • Coordinate with Payroll and Operations teams to ensure correct expense allocations and payments.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the department.
  • Assist with tax preparation support, audits, and financial documentation as needed.
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with company policies and U.S. accounting principles
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online required.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Self-motivated and disciplined — capable of managing deadlines and priorities in a remote setup.
  • Familiarity with automation tools or AI-based accounting solutions is a plus.
  • Experience with U.S.-based companies or GAAP accounting preferred.
