UX Designer

Our client, a major oil and gas organization's
Upstream division
, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic
Senior UX Designer
to join their innovative UX design team. This role is pivotal in
defining and driving
research-based solutions to tackle the most complex technical challenges inherent in the Oil & Gas industry.

You will act as a design leader, working closely with
cross-functional leadership
, including principal engineers and senior project managers, to create elegant, scalable, and effective user interfaces that simplify highly complex tools and processes.

What You'll Be Doing: Top 5 Responsibilities

• Design Strategic Solutions:
  Your primary role is to
  define and lead
  the design of interfaces and processes that optimize user productivity across the enterprise, ensuring solutions are scalable and address complex systems-level challenges.
• Integrate & Drive Research Strategy:
  Take ownership of integrating and translating insights from UX research into actionable design strategies, ensuring the final product is
  user-centered, evidence-based, and strategically sound
  .
• Create & Govern Design Artifacts:
  Produce and guide the development of high-fidelity design artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, and design systems), ensuring design consistency and clarity across multiple product lines.
• Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Serve as a senior design liaison, collaborating effectively with executive stakeholders, development leadership, and peer designers, and
  influencing long-term product roadmaps
  .
• Champion Design Excellence:
  Beyond execution, you will actively
  educate, mentor, and advocate
  for the adoption of sound design principles and best practices across the organization.

What You'll Bring: Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise (10+ Years Experience Required)

• UX Design Mastery:
  10+ years of professional experience
  in designing complex user interfaces for
  enterprise-level web apps and desktop applications
  , with a proven history of solving highly technical, domain-specific problems.
• Prototyping & System Design:
  Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g.,
  Figma, Sketch
  ) and significant experience
  building, maintaining, and governing Design Systems
  .
• Agile Leadership:
  Extensive experience and leadership working within
  Agile or Lean software development teams
  , comfortable setting design direction in fast-paced, iterative environments.
• Complex Systems Design:
  Deep, demonstrated experience designing for
  expert systems, real-time data visualization, or control systems
  within high-stakes, technical domains (e.g., energy, finance, aerospace).
• Collaboration & Tooling:
  Expert command of collaboration and project management tools (e.g.,
  Jira, Confluence, Miro
  ) to manage and communicate design scope and priorities effectively.

Candidate Profile & Details

• Experience Level:
  Senior-level
  with
  10+ years of professional UX design experience
  , specifically in designing and leading strategy for complex, expert-driven products.
• Educational Background:
  Required:
  Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Factors, HCI, Information Science, or a similar field.
  Preferred:
  A Master's or advanced degree is highly beneficial.
• Industry Background (Highly Preferred):
  Deep experience in designing for technical, expert systems or real-time data systems in complex technical domains (e.g., energy, software, specialized industries).
• Team Environment:
