Bookkeepers today are stuck working in excel spreadsheets and homegrown project management solutions to support their clients. Double is on a mission to change that.

With our all-in-one tool, bookkeepers can manage their work, communicate with clients, catch hard-to-find errors, and deliver reports to help their small business customers make smarter strategic decisions.

Founded in 2021, Double has raised $12.5M in seed funding, backed by leading tech investors like Y Combinator and founders at top startups like Lattice, Front, Superhuman, Plaid, and more. Double currently helps thousands of bookkeepers and accountants manage the books for startups and small businesses across the US.

We're growing fast, and we're looking for another Engineering Manager to accelerate our product and help our customers better serve their small business clients.

Our teamWhat You'll Do

  • Work with our talented engineering team to ensure successful execution, and solve technical problems

  • Guide the team through nuanced decisions that balance speed of delivery, quality and complexity

  • Unblock engineers so they can do their best work

  • Contribute to improving our Double culture

  • Collaborate directly with the CEO, CTO, Product Managers, and UX Designers to accelerate growth

Who You Are

  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)

  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience building production SaaS software

  • Track record of successful engineering people leadership.

  • Previous demonstrable experience writing type-safe code with TypeScript

  • Plus: experience hiring great engineers

Stack

  • Front-end: React + Redux (Typescript)

  • Back-end: + Express (Typescript), TypeORM, Postgres
