As part of Chevron Business Support Center (BASSC), the Tax Department is responsible for tax compliance in United States (US), Europe, Middle East and Latin America Indirect taxes and US Direct taxes for Chevron entities. The Tax department supports all Chevron businesses (Upstream, Downstream, Midstream & Corporate department), audits, and projects. These may include, but it’s not limited to, acquisitions, divestitures, new energies portfolios.
Required Qualification/Soft Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, business, finance or tax- Combination of +10 years of tax accounting, finance and/or audit experience- Excellent oral/written English skills- Preferred qualifications:
- US or International Direct and Indirect tax experience- Soft skills: coordination/Leadership skills- Analytical skills and critical thinking- Able to adapt processes in response to a fast-paced environment.
- Main Activities:
- Manage most complex account reconciliations. Address corrective measures that may also impact other teams. Prepare fluctuation analysis (P&L, B/S, payments).
- Analysis of accounting data and inventory gains/losses for tax reporting purposes.
- Conduct research for more complicated tax questions and contacts tax authorities for clarification as needed.
- Lead communication with business partners on issue/discrepancies resolutions.
- Leads, coordinates and collaborates on special projects as well as review regulations and procedures
- Tax returns preparation/supports the filing of tax returns
- Tax determination on customers billing
- Understanding of regulations and
- Business an accounting acumen
- Supporting internal and external audits
