Staff AI Engineer - Health Tech
We are partnering with one of the most prestigious companies in the health tech industry to find a Staff AI Engineer to lead the AI transformation of their engineering organization. This is a full-time role under a direct employment relationship, paid in USD, and based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a hybrid work model (2 days per week onsite in Puerto Madero).
The company works on the forefront of medical data interoperability, building large-scale distributed systems that ensure accurate and secure exchange of health information.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the integration of AI tools and methodologies across the engineering team.
- Deliver software engineering projects from concept to production.
- Guide the migration from monolith to microservices architecture.
- Implement and maintain AI-enhanced development practices.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
- Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge AI technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols.

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Java enterprise software development.
- 7+ years working with microservices architecture using Kubernetes, Docker, AWS.
- Experience migrating from monolithic to microservices systems.
- 2+ years using AI/LLM tools (experience with Cursor is a plus).
- Solid understanding of LLM-based code generation tools.
- Experience handling sensitive data in multi-tenant environments (PHI preferred).
- Familiarity with medical data protocols such as FHIR and HL7 is a strong plus.
- English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Availability to work hybrid from Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero area).
