As a **Junior** **Security** **Engineer **at EdgeUno you will be hands-on, holding technical activities and special projects to the Cybersecurity team, responsible for the design, deployment, support, audits, implementation and enforcement of information security policies and network and security systems controls. In this position, you will be a a key participant in the corporate incident response plan, guiding how to make things more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data. Also supporting IT operations utilizing various security tools and platforms and analyzing the network, systems, processes, and procedures at the company to continuously enhance and streamline operations, and automate where applicable.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Provides support in the design and implementation of automation solutions and tools for continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment (CI/CD) (DEVSECOPS) with a focus on security.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures to protect EdgeUno’s cloud, infrastructure, systems, and customer data.
- Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks and threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of security best practices in software development, network architecture, and system administration, in all the SDLC process.
- Analyze security incidents and lead incident response efforts, providing root cause analysis, remediation recommendations, and post-mortem reviews.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members, fostering a strong culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in cybersecurity, ensuring EdgeUno’s security posture remains robust and adaptive in a rapidly evolving landscape.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new security technologies and services, aligning with EdgeUno’s strategic goals and business requirements.
- Assist in the development and delivery of security training and awareness programs for employees at all levels within the organization.
- Support compliance efforts with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 2.
- Advance enterprise security across the network;
- Conduct exit briefing and presentation to the leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Hold regular team meetings to determine progress and address with the team any questions or challenges regarding projects and daily basis activities.

**Requirements**:

- A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or a closely related field; a combination of education and equivalent work experience
- Experience for introducing the CIbersecurity vision in the CI/CD (DevSecOps) process
- Knowledge of computer and network security engineering.
- Knowledge of information security principles and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, etc.
- Familiarity with secure development best practices, such as Secure SDLC.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity in corporate contexts. CISSP, CISM, CISA or other security certifications strongly desirable.
- Experience in Active Directory administration
- Experience with database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite
- Proven experience in Linux system administration and hardening
- Experience with scripting languages
- Experience in securing cloud-based platforms and private clouds (Hardening)
- Experience with vulnerability management systems
- Proven experience with network telemetry and associated platforms.
- Proven experience with Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems
- Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) systems
- Experience with penetration tests and security reports for executive areas
- Experience with firewall design and implementation
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
