Senior Security Engineer

As a **Senior Security Engineer** at EdgeUno you will be a hands-on contributor, actively leading technical initiatives and special projects within the Cybersecurity and Developments teams. You will be responsible for integrating security into the CI/CD pipelines, designing, implementing, and auditing security controls across cloud infrastructure and development processes. Your role will include automating security testing, vulnerability detection, and response, ensuring secure coding practices, and collaborating closely with development and operations teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle. You will also play a crucial role in the corporate incident response plan, mitigating risks, securing system boundaries, and protecting sensitive data from external threats, while continuously streamlining processes and enhancing automation where applicable.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Provides support in the design and implementation of automation solutions and tools for continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment (CI/CD) (DEVSECOPS) with a focus on security.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures to protect EdgeUno’s cloud, infrastructure, systems, and customer data.
- Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks and threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of security best practices in software development, network architecture, and system administration, in all the SDLC process.
- Analyze security incidents and lead incident response efforts, providing root cause analysis, remediation recommendations, and post-mortem reviews.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members, fostering a strong culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in cybersecurity, ensuring EdgeUno’s security posture remains robust and adaptive in a rapidly evolving landscape.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new security technologies and services, aligning with EdgeUno’s strategic goals and business requirements.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to provide security guidance and best practices.
- Assist in the development and delivery of security training and awareness programs for employees at all levels within the organization.
- Support compliance efforts with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications, such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 2.
- Advance enterprise security across the network;
- Conduct exit briefing and presentation to the leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Hold regular team meetings to determine progress and address with the team any questions or challenges regarding projects and daily basis activities.

**Requirements**:

- A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or a closely related field; a combination of education and equivalent work experience
- Experience for introducing the CIbersecurity vision in the CI/CD (DevSecOps) process
- Advanced knowledge of computer and network security engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of information security principles and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, etc.
- Familiarity with secure development best practices, such as Secure SDLC.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity in corporate contexts. CISSP, CISM, CISA or other security certifications strongly desirable.
- Strong experience in Active Directory administration
- Experience with database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite
- Proven experience in Linux system administration and hardening
- Experience with scripting languages
- Experience in securing cloud-based platforms and private clouds (Hardening)
- Experience with vulnerability management systems
- Proven experience with network telemetry and associated platforms.
- Proven experience with Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems
- Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) systems
- Experience with penetration tests and security reports for executive areas
- Experience with firewall design and implementation
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
