We are looking for an experienced **Technical SEO lead** to support a team of SEO and content specialists on a range of eCommerce, professional services and SaaS clients.
The technical SEO lead will be responsible for monitoring client websites to identify and remedy issues that impact user experience, crawling and indexing by search engines. The technical SEO lead will also be required to consult with internal SEO teams - a key requirement is the ability to create, justify, and communicate SEO strategies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Technical SEO audits and implementation plans to identify problems that may be interfering with how search engines crawl, index and surface content. Audits should cover crawling, content, technical, site speed, backlinks, mobile, international and local SEO
- Implementation/execution of audit recommendations to improve technical SEO, across the areas listed above
- Support with analysis and recovery for SEO scenarios, such as ranking drops, Google penalizations, and Google algorithm core updates
- Support with website migrations/redesigns, including advisory/strategy and execution, covering benchmarking, URL mapping and redirects, post-launch auditing and performance monitoring
- Advise on keyword research, competitive analysis and on-page optimisation strategies where necessary (we have a core team of SEO content specialists, so this aspect of the role will be on an ad hoc basis)
- Implement changes in content management systems (CMS)
- Collaborate with SEO managers, SEO content writers and other in-house marketing teams (e.g. paid marketing)
- Constantly develop new SEO tests and strategies
- Communicate SEO strategies and projects to internal stakeholders
- Serve as the key technical SEO expert/advocate
- Keep up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, strategies and algorithm changes

**Requirements**:

- At least 3+ years of prior experience working in technical SEO with a proven track record
- Technical SEO skills across Javascript SEO, internal linking optimisation, log file analysis, crawl budget optimisation, mobile optimisation, web speed optimisation, XML sitemap, HT Access files, and robots.txt optimisation, pagination optimisation, and structured data optimisation
- Experience with E-commerce SEO, local SEO, mobile SEO, International SEO, small business

SEO and SaaS SEO
- Experience and/or understanding of code (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Good understanding of Shopify, WordPress and HubSpot CMS
- Good understanding of SEO best practices
- Ability to create, justify, communicate and implement SEO strategies to internal SEO teams
- Data-driven and analytical mindset
- Attention to detail
- Experience working with SEO tools (e.g. Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SEMRush)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
