The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer who would be working across the Proofpoint product teams to build on top of a world class platform and shared services suite of solutions. This position involves architecture, design, implementation and operation of large-scale cloud-based services that form the backbone of Proofpoint’s product suite.

What you bring to the team- 10+ years of strong server-side development experience. Experience of front-end development a bonus.-
- Proven hands-on expertise in developing software in an Agile manner.-
- Experience with scalability/high availability and distributed data services.-
- Experience building, deploying and monitoring large scale cloud services. AWS preferred.-
- Experience in modern authentication mechanisms, Authz/Authn.-
- Authoritative level understanding and hands-on experience with REST/Web services using JSON.-
- Strong Object-Oriented Analysis and design concepts.-
- Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL implementations.-
- Exposure to modern DevOps methodologies with CI/CD pipelines.-
- Ownership of high value product features and technical initiatives.-
- Ability to act independently as a lead on complex projects and collaborate with the team.-
- Excellent communication skills.-
- Play well with others Be a great teammate and help us maintain our positive culture-
- Share knowledge with the team both formally and informally.-
- Ready to adapt and contribute across the wider team as needed.-
- Provide mentoring and thought leadership to other team members.-
- Expertise in Linux.-
- Expertise in, or a strong desire to learn, a wide range of technologies, including: Java, JavaScript, React.js, REST/JSON APIs, Linux, AWS, Puppet, Kubernetes, Docker, terraform, Jenkins, Selenium, GitWhy Proofpoint
