El Ingeniero de Servicio - Customer Engineer - es responsable de los incidentes que se le asignen. Responde a todos las dudas o problemas del cliente, ya sea resolviendolos o escalandolos a la persona adecuada, miembro de su equipo, Territory Manager o a la Torre de Control. El CE sera el dueño de los problemas o incidentes del cliente hasta que la situacion se haya resulto a entera satisfaccion de este y/o dentro de los parametros acordados en el SLA (Service Level Agreement). El CE sera entrenado y capacitado en una linea determinada de productos, al igual que en las politicas y procedimientos de NCR, y en técnicas basicas de diagnostico y procedimientos de reparacion, para poder dar soporte al cliente en hardware/software/sistemas operativos. El CE dara soporte en productos y servicios de mediana complejidad y dara soporte remoto y en sitio a nível I. Los productos de Nível II (tier II) incluyen servidores, mainframe computers y perifericos, impresoras de sistemas complejos y plotters, servidores y sistemas POS back-office, mantenimiento de segunda linea de Cajeros Automaticos (ATM's) y kioskos, lectoras de cheques (item processing reader/sorters), equipos de networking de baja y mediana complejidad. Los servicios primarios incluyen instalacion y alistamiento de hardware, mantenimiento de primera linea y mantenimiento multi-vendor.
