Senior Buyer

**Job Summary**:
The Buyer III will assist in managing a regional team of buyers by functioning as the group’s lead. In addition to reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions and soliciting bids from the approved vendor list, this role is integral in executing efficiency objectives to make the team scalable. The role will ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and policies across the team. Understanding and identifying any other process gaps in vendor data and payments and translating those into problem statements for IT improvements is also critical. Enhancing the team’s productivity from a managerial perspective while maintaining buyer functions will make this role hands on while allowing for the development of leadership.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain an effective vendor base to procure various services, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Monitor supplier performance with field resources and make necessary changes to vendors in ERP
- Research and resolve receiving and accounts payable issues
- Monitor heavy spend items and collaborate with global strategic team to suggest alternative approaches to reduce cost
- Track year over year savings/costs for high spend commodities
- Maintain and improve upon FieldCore purchasing system
- Assist in recruitment and activities related to hiring team members
- Participate in cross functional meetings with Quality, Process Improvement, AP and other areas to streamline all Sourcing activities
- Lead changes in process and procedures to improve process flow, compliance and team effectiveness
- Root cause complex ERP problems and manage fixes with IT resources
- Understand team productivity, suggest re-assignment of resources as necessary and elevate emergent needs
- Review, evaluate, and monitor purchase requisitions for proper authorization, specifications, and compliance
- Provide leadership to and management of regional buyer team, including mentoring and developing team.

**Required Qualifications & Experience**:

- High School diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years purchasing experience
- 1+ years managing and developing employees
- Experience with procurement and purchasing systems is required
- English proficiency required
- Minimal travel required

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures, including vendor qualification and performance monitoring
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills and strong results oriented aptitude
- Advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems (SAP & Oracle)
- Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Skillful in establishing and maintaining working relationships with departments and suppliers
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable concepts and general working of Accounting
- Superior ability to influence peers and subordinates as part of leadership of a small group
