**Role Summary**:
The responsibilities of the Design Engineer role are closely related to engineering design. The Design Engineer must have a mix of practical and technical experience, having experience in different types of mechanical design. It is a pure Engineering role, design is the main focus.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify the pump's scope of supply, read customer specifications, and identify applicability.
- Develop documentation for each project, monitor, and control the project. Plan and control the data book for each project.
- Design mechanical seal support systems to meet customer specifications, industry standards and international codes.
- Develop bills of materials and assembly drawings associated with the equipment, generate specifications for the purchase of accessories, instrumentation, piping, etc.
- Provide production support, providing advice and tactical guidance on specification deviations and exceptions. Conduct materials review meetings when necessary.
- Prepare project plans in accordance with client/contract requirements.
- Coordinate project engineering resources and direct activities across multiple projects.
- 3D skills to produce skid drawings as well as piping schematics and bills of materials.
- Instruct/guide Design team in the production of drawings, BOM’s, and supporting documentation for the manufacture, testing, installation, operation and support of mechanical seal auxiliary systems
- Contribute expertise to global standardization efforts
- Effectively manage an ongoing queue of multiple projects/orders with consideration to quality and on-time delivery
- And any other assigned tasks

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with 2+ years of industrial experience
- Strong background in hydraulic systems design and function; experience with API and ASME codes preferredStrong analytical, problem solving, and computer skills
- Advanced Office package
- Skills in Autocad 2D, Inventor or SolidWorks 3D
- Knowledge of rotating equipment desirable.
- Intermediate English
- Excellent ability to read and understand engineering drawings/documents
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong planning, time management and organizational skills; able to succeed in a collaborative environment while establishing and executing on priorities that include multiple projects, support requests and CIP initiatives
- Strong personnel development and mentoring skills
- Ability to focus on long term goals and to identify and produce deliverables aligned with business objectives
- Strong focus on customer service
