The Compliance function supports the development of a strong regulatory compliance culture by the implementation of a Compliance Program to ensure compliance with laws and regulations relevant in the region. It also covers and maintains practices to identify, measure, manage and remediate regulatory related risks and monitors and tests the operating effectiveness of the Firm.
The Compliance Officer will join as a member of the Latin America and Canada team and will assist on the execution of the Compliance Program with focus on compliance risks and controls.
**About Compliance, Conduct & Operational Risk**:
Compliance is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the Risk Management and Compliance organization, which is responsible for the design and execution of the second line of defense’s responsibilities in the oversight of management of the firm’s Compliance, Conduct, and Operational Risk.
Our organization is focused on cultivating a strong, unified culture that embraces a sense of personal accountability in developing the highest corporate standards in governance and controls and fostering a transparency. The Compliance function supports the development of a strong regulatory compliance culture to ensure compliance with laws and regulations relevant in the region, as well as internal policies. It also covers and maintains practices to identify, measure, manage and remediate regulatory and conduct related risks and monitors and tests the operating effectiveness of business practices.

The Compliance Officer will join as a member of the Latin America Core Compliance team and will assist on the execution of the Compliance Program with focus on compliance risks and controls.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
- Oversight of adherence to regulatory requirements related to the areas in scope.
- Support the Global Anticorruption Compliance Program, which is a firmwide program covering all Lines of Business (LOBs) and Corporate Functions (Functions).
- Reporting, analysis and escalation of relevant compliance metrics.
- Support the control agenda and assist in process mapping and risk control identification.
- Conduct Compliance awareness sessions and trainings/inductions when necessary, in particular with focus on employees of the Corporate Service Center
- Liaise with global compliance team to help deliver global initiatives.
- Build and maintain key relationships across the wider CCOR department and with key partners; establishing a culture of engagement across the region and with central/corporate groups.
**Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities**:
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Access/PowerPoint)
- Bachelor Degree required on areas such as accounting, administration, law or similar.
- Previous experience in Compliance, Risk, Audit or Control areas in banking and financial markets is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand bank products and associated risks.
- Control and process-driven mindset; attention to details and process skills; sense of urgency.
- Pro-active, enthusiastic and able to solve problems independently.
- Team oriented with good interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes
