**About Us**:
We produce a podcast that dives deep into topics across science, politics, philosophy, and beyond. Our goal is to offer some of the best video production in the podcasting world. We’re seeking a dedicated video editor who is passionate about producing top-quality video content and willing to grow with our company. Currently, we have a strong presence in English-speaking markets, and now we’re looking to expand into the Arabic and French-speaking world to reach an even larger audience.

**Position Overview**:
This role requires a skilled and motivated editor who can handle complex editing tasks, manage tight deadlines, and contribute creative insights to elevate our video production. You will be working with multi-camera and multi-microphone footage, preparing episodes and clips for platforms like YouTube, and continually developing your editing skills. You will also eventually run Arabic and French social media operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Editing & Production**:

- Edit full-length audio and video episodes (1-3 hours) and shorter clips (10-50 per episode) using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Work with multi-camera setups and high-quality audio to create seamless, polished episodes and engaging clips.
- Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards for visual and audio quality.
- **Research & Skill Development**:

- Continuously improve editing techniques and stay informed on top editing practices in the industry.
- Perform market research to understand trends in video production for podcasts and other media.
- Engage in ongoing learning to refine software skills and keep up with innovations in video editing and production.
- **Administrative & Miscellaneous Tasks**:

- Provide daily summaries of completed work and logged hours.
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the podcast’s growth and success, adapting to various roles within our evolving team.
- **Social Media Strategy & Management**:

- Develop a comprehensive social media strategy tailored to platforms popular in the Arabic and French-speaking world..
- Manage and grow our presence on these platforms, adapting content to suit platform-specific norms and audience preferences.
- **Content Translation & Localization**:

- Translate English podcast interviews, titles, descriptions, and other materials into Arabic and French at a high level of fluency and accuracy.
- Ensure that translations capture the tone and context of the original content, making it accessible and engaging for an Arabic and French-speaking audience.
- Work with the podcast team to adapt content where needed to better suit cultural differences and sensibilities.

**Requirements**:

- **Hard Skills**: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, advanced English fluency, and an interest in topics related to science, politics, and philosophy.
- **Soft Skills**: Strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, effective communication, and a refined aesthetic and directorial sensibility.
- **Language Skills**: Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic and French, with advanced proficiency in English. Strong written communication skills in both languages.
- **Social Media Expertise**: Experience managing and growing accounts on major social media platforms.
- **Translation Experience**: Proven track record of translating English content to Arabic, ideally in the media or academic field.
- **Cultural Understanding**: Familiarity with Western and Arab cultural nuances to translate and adapt content appropriately.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 1-2 years of experience in video editing, particularly in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- College degree or graduate-level coursework in a relevant field.

**Compensation and Benefits**:
Pay will scale with experience and the growth of the company. We have no ceiling for pay in mind, and if someone is willing to grow with the company and do excellent work they will be compensated accordingly.
