Investment Associate para Hedge Fund

We have three business verticals: investment banking (M&A advisory & capital raising), private equity (club deals with institutional investors, family offices, and high net worth individuals), and public markets (long/short absolute return hedge fund).

The **Investment **Associate **will have significant responsibility and exposure to all aspects of our core business with significant space to grow over time within the organization.

**The main responsibilities of this position include**:

- Participate in portfolio construction, risk management, and investment ideas generation.
- Perform due diligence and fundamental analysis, including building and maintaining financial models and industry databases for valuing companies and evaluating market segments.
- Review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources in order to gather, synthesize, and interpret data on investment opportunities.
- Prepare investment memos for portfolio manager.
- Assist in the monitoring of existing investments.
- Participate in calls and meetings with sell-side analysts, industry contacts, and management teams.

**Qualifications & Skills**

We follow Warren Buffet’s advice when adding talent to our team; we look for three things: integrity, intelligence, and energy. The **Investment Associate **should be passionate about investing in public markets.

Desired qualifications for the **Investment Associate **include:

- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or other related degrees. Master in Finance or CFA preferred.
- Graduates from first-rate institutions at the top of their class.
- At least 3 years of investment research / management experience.

Specific skills for the **Investment Associate **include:

- Strong quantitative capabilities and Excel fluency.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills (bilingual in English and Spanish is a must).
- Analytical ability to understand and assess investment case logic and identify and mitigate risks.
- High level of attention to details, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Creativity to constantly think of new ways to accomplish tasks.
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Clear understanding of the investment management industry from both a fiduciary and strategic perspective.
