We are looking for a Senior Product Designer. As a product designer at Sovos, you will collaborate with Product and Engineering to ship solutions to challenging problems and get feedback directly from customers.
This role will lead design projects for some of our highest revenue-generating products, serving a diverse range of users, including many from large financial institutions. Some products are for managed service customers who need an effortless way to work with their Sovos rep and approve filings. Other products are for power users who need a highly customizable experience that helps them do their job more efficiently. For each project, you'll need to listen closely to understand what the user needs so we can deliver a product that works well for them.

**What skills do you need?**
**Core Design Skills**
- Strong visual design skills, including a deep understanding of layout, visual hierarchy, responsive design, and data visualization.
- Skilled at designing, prototyping, testing, implementing, and evaluating user experiences of products.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
**Strategic Thinking and Planning**
- Crafts compelling narratives that solve real problems based on customer needs and wants.
- Experienced in creating UX strategy for a product or products, including aligning the team on key outcomes and metrics and breaking down a big vision into manageable phases.
**Team Collaboration and Leadership**
- Can get the best ideas out of teammates, lead brainstorming sessions, and turn those ideas into elegant, practical designs.
- Self-starter who can coordinate work across multiple teams and collaborate and bring together ideas from various stakeholder groups.
**Analytical and Customer Focus**
- Operates on data-driven principles, has a strong desire to understand the customer, and does not settle for the first decision.
- Thrives on big, ambiguous user problems where you can drive discovery and lead the team to understanding.
**Personal Attributes**
- Always curious, asking, “how can we improve?”
- Deeply cares about the impact of their work.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum 7 years' experience in product design
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- A portfolio that shows how you tackle problems, research and validate solutions, plus the impact of your work
- Extensive experience with industry-standard design tools such as Figma
- Bonus if you’re comfortable with analytics tools like Pendo or Heap Analytics, and have basic knowledge of CSS + HTML
