As a **Senior Software Engineer** on the **Nodes team** at n8n, you’ll help **shape the foundation that powers every automation**. Your focus will be on **building, maintaining, and innovating on** the core nodes that make n8n’s workflow automation platform so powerful. You’ll **own features end-to-end**, working across the stack and **collaborating with Product and Design** to enable teams to build high-quality, reliable integrations faster.

- Human-in-the-loop step for workflow approvals
- Community node support in n8n Cloud
- AI data transformation node
- Data schema previews and smarter form nodes
- Workflow evaluation nodes

**What You’ll Do**:

- ** Build and ship end-to-end features** across the stack with a focus on reliability, scalability, and great user experience.
- Examples: developer tooling for node authors, a verification system for community nodes, improvements to core nodes that unlock new capabilities, and next phases of schema preview.
- ** Drive engineering quality initiatives**, including reducing **bugs**, improving **test coverage**, and strengthening **system resilience**.
- ** Contribute to technical strategy,** balancing innovation with reliability and making long-term architecture improvements.
- ** Mentor and support** teammates through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- ** Build with a product mindset, evaluating** trade-offs, prioritizing impact, and deeply caring about the end-user experience.

**What You’ll Bring**:

- ** 5+ years** of full-stack experience with **JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js**, and frontend frameworks like **Vue.js** or **React**
- Proven experience building **end-to-end features** in a **B2B SaaS startup** environment
- Strong grasp of **scalable backend architecture**, **APIs**, and modern **frontend frameworks**
- Solid skills in **debugging, testing, and quality assurance**, with experience writing unit, integration, and **e2e tests** (**Playwright, Jest**, etc.)
- Ability to **prioritize effectively**, balancing shipping speed, quality, and impact
- Experience **working closely with PMs, designers**, and other stakeholders to make data-informed decisions and ship meaningful features
- A **collaborative, low-ego mindset** and a drive to move fast together
- Passion for **clean code, shared ownership, and product impact**

**Bonus Points For**:

- Familiarity with performance optimisation, **observability**, and **monitoring tools**.
- Experience using **user feedback** to iterate and improve features
- Contributions to **open source** or plugin ecosystems
