Digital Asset Librarian

This individual should be able to work independently, be proficient at workflow management and troubleshooting, and possess good planning and communication skills.
**Responsibilities**
- Organize and ingest assets into the DAM, including large and bulk assets
Create and maintain digital art libraries in the Digital Asset Management System (DAM) across business units.
Work with internal stakeholders to obtain image usage rights and enter that information into the metadata.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to define metadata requirements and maintain the completeness and accuracy of image metadata needed for efficient image retrieval
- Run reports for expiring assets and work with internal teams to update license terms as needed.
- Onboard new users on our art library process and how to access, review and use metadata.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic goals for the DAM metadata
- Mentor users to support and maintain our DAM file management and file naming guidelines
- Work with DAM Managers to develop and improve metadata management and asset ingestion into the system.
- Implement and support advanced DAM features such as keyword tagging, adding custom metadata fields, and implementing hot folders, etc. to increase efficiency and add functionality
- Support the business by submitting final projects to client DAM systems, staying current on client DAM requirements/procedures, and working with client DAM librarians to troubleshoot issues.
- Partner with DAM Manager to establish and manage file naming procedures
- Stage/migrate files from client handovers and servers
- Create folder structures on the DAM and monitor/enforce adherence
- Establish file retention policies based on stakeholder workflows and requirements

- Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to interact and collaborate on an individual or group setting. Able to escalate issues in a professional and clear manor.

Advertising Skills:

- Understand the pace of advertising. Things move quickly and challenges need to be met in a calm, professional and optimistic manor.

People/Teamwork/Corporate Citizenship:

- A friendly/open working relationship with team members and vendor partners is an absolute must.

**Job Requirements**
- Required: Bachelor's degree, preferable in library science
- Proficient in English
- Required: 3-5 years' experience as a librarian of digital asset management system, preferably in the advertising/marketing industry
- Required: Ability and desire to stay current on with new technologies through self-directed research.
