JOB DESCRIPTION The Latin America and Canada (LAC) Chief Data Office is a new business-centric team, part of the wider Corporate & Investment Banking Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), with a firmwide mandate for the LAC region.
The LAC Chief Data Officer is responsible for the regional implementation and execution of the Firm's data governance and strategy, ensuring that global firmwide and/or Corporate & Investment Banking data policies, standards, and procedures are applied consistently across the regional businesses, legal entities, and countries.
Job ResponsibilitiesSupport the Chief Data Office executives in defining and executing global and local data strategies.Lead and own specific data workstreams (e.g., privacy, data storage) to ensure compliance with global policies and local regulatory requirements.Develop reporting and metrics to support governance meetings and managers with supervisory responsibilities, such as Data Protection Officers.Lead and execute projects required by local regulatory requirements.Promote awareness of data culture across all Lines of Business (LOBs), conduct data governance training, and implement communication strategies/campaigns.Foster strong partnerships with Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsBachelor's degree (or equivalent).8-10 years of experience in operations, controls, technology, or data-related fields within financial institutions.Experience working with groups across different countries in Latin America.Good understanding of banking products and the regulatory landscape in Latin America.Knowledge of data flows and data controls.Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, with the ability to tailor messages to various management levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Motivated, with excellent time management and organizational skills.Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, including PitchPro.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with various functions and locations.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge in technology and data-related fields.Proficiency in Portuguese language.About Us J.P.
