**The Work You'll Do**:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the company’s multiple databases. This individual will resolve database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- More specifically you will:_
- Understand the tiers and dependencies of database deployments including network, DB server, OS process, storage, transaction logging, backup and recovery
- Identify and interpret status and health indicators in all the DB tiers
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions
- Ensure all Operational Service Levels are met against documented SOPs
- Follow defined processes for workflow, incident and change management
- Follow and update documentation of configurations, maintenance plans and project updates

**What We Need From You**
- Some background working in a NOC or data center operations with customer facing systems
- Working experience in complex operational environments in various aspects of support for their technical area.
- Knowledge of at least one of the Sovos database platforms: Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres
- Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Citrix
- SAN Administration (EMC/HP/NetApp)
- VMware
- Linux
- Interact effectively with teammates, colleagues and customers
