Environmental & Social Director for Mining

ERM has an opportunity for an experienced leader to join our global consulting firm as an Environmental & Social Director for Mining Sector in Argentina and become a true ambassador in a business with Sustainability at its heart.

We are looking for a driven client-facing leader, a strategic thinker and agile doer with prior experience in Mining that can work with corporate and project-level clients on large-scale mine development, social impact, social performance, permitting, baseline study programs, regulatory compliance
- to drive Argentinean sales for key clients in the Mining sector.

As a senior leader you will be fully accountable for successfully selling, consulting and supporting our technical environmental expertise in the Mining sector.

ERM is structured to encourage collaboration and networking among disciplines, service lines, industry groups and regional offices, providing opportunities to collaborate with ERM’s global sustainability experts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- As a “seller/doer,” contribute to expand ERM’s the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to target clients across the Mining sector.
- Lead the preparation of technical deliverables, including serving as the lead technical expert or at a minimum provide senior review.
- Perform project delivery activities such as development of work plans, organizing methodologies, data collection and survey field work, data and literature review, quality control of data and reports, and development of recommendations for clients.
- Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Maintain client relationships that generate repeat business.
- Mentor junior and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets in the Mining sector.
- Participate in industry and technical conferences.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- BS/MS in planning, engineering, safety, science, business, or nature-related careers
- 7+ years of progressive experience in the consulting or regulatory environment, working substantially with Mining sector (mandatory).
- 7+ years of consulting experience in water resource management, impact assessment and permitting strongly related to the Mining Sector. Solid understanding in hydrometeorology, water balance and/or geochemical modeling, hydraulic and hydrologic modelling and modeling of environmental water quality.
- Solid grasp of the key regulatory drivers within the Mining sector, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices
- Recognized technical expertise by an established reputation in the marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to environmental approvals.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Well-developed team building and influencing skills; unquestionable integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Positive outlook, collaborative, and inspired by the success of ERM as a global company.
- Fully proficient in English and Spanish, mandatory.
- Willingness to undertake both domestic and international travel
