Cps Ar Automation Engineer

**JOB SUMMARY**: The position requires an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the initiatives related to automation and digitization defined by the plant in the Industry 4.0 roadmap. The position is responsible for:

- Manage, plan, execute and control the automation capital investments, ensuring compliance with company requirements.
- Supervise automation activities with suppliers to ensure critical and non-critical manufacturing equipment are fit for use.
- Ensure all shop-floor networks are operational and safe for use
- Support the maintenance team to address break-downs in automated lines

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Manage, plan, execute and control the automation capital investments, ensuring compliance with company requirements, approved budget and time line.
- Ensure the correct maintenance of the Shopfloor network and the automated lines.
- Provide high level automation technical expertise to the Plant and all the automation stakeholders to ensure also all shop floor networks are maintained
- Support the develop of the training capability plan for the plant.
- Supports commissioning and validation processes, verify the automation performance comply according the process and building design

**COMMUNICATION COMPLEXITIES**:

- Cross-departmental coordinarion of priorities regarding Automation and Digitization initiatives
- Lead bidding processes related to Capex Management (internal and external contacts)
- Lead, coordinate and supervise task from external suppliers
- Interact with Corporate IT teams

**ANALYSIS**:

- The role must collaborate with the CPS AR LT in the development, implementation and maintenance of initiatives related to Industry 4.0. To achieve this, this person must be able to clearly identify the needs of internal customers, develop projects to solve them and lead their implementation, complying with the assigned budget and the committed times. Within the corporate guidelines, the role has autonomy to decide the best way to achieve its objectives.
- Clearly and effectively communicating is a critical part of an automation engineer's work as the role needs to explain complex technical ideas to the team and to stakeholders.

**Judgment and Decision Making**:

- Make decisions regarding the technical automation and digitization solutions
- Make decisions regarding suppliers of the area of automation and control
- Make inmediate decisions about solutions for minor and serious line problems related to automation and digitization
- Define the new technologies to be implemented in the operation
- Define knowledge, skills and capabilities to be developed in the plant associates
- It is responsible for developing and implementing automation and digitization initiatives to achieve productivity goals. Supports CAPEX and OPEX planning process. The role is a key player in the Industry 4.0 strategy.

**Innovation**:

- Evaluation, design and deployment of automation and IT infrastructure.
- Implementation of new technologies
- Identification of new opportunities for automation and/or digitization

**Required Qualification**

University/Bachelor’s Degree: Automation, Electronic or robotics engineer

3 Years previous experience in roles of automation and instrumentation activities in industrial plants
