Job Characteristics:Interviews, selects, and negotiates with vendors. Works closely on a daily basis with suppliers and internal associates including planners, and plant procurement associates to help ensure high service and quality levels that align to the negotiated terms of the supplier contract. Coordinates with purchasing, production, warehouse and engineering personnel to ensure proper scheduling and movement of materials. Maintains accurate records of inventories to ensure that sufficient levels of raw materials are maintained (Directs/Equipment).

Education/Work Experience:Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or related business degree plus broad experience in purchasing and supervision. Five or more years of work experience.

Independence Level/Reports to:Has authority to issue purchase agreements, blanket orders, and purchase orders within corporate purchasing policy to achieve desired results. Has primary authority for sourcing items with qualified vendors. Selects, trains, motivates, promotes, and disciplines staff based on company policy. Normally reports to Sr. Procurement Manager or Operations Vice President.
