Your Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analytics Manager to join our Data Science team. You will champion the analytics agenda in Bitso’s retail strategy. You’ll partner with key product leaders to translate key strategic problems to analytics solutions. This includes managing the workload across different product fleets, managing stakeholders, and leading a team of analytics specialists. You’re also expected to mentor your team to grow their ability to answer key questions effectively and rigorously.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone with a strong analytical background, experience in business analytics both as an individual contributor and manager, excellent communication skills, and a passion for transforming data into impactful business insights. To succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. We also welcome equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Looker (LookML), and other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI. Proficiency in R or Python for advanced analytics. Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.
- Storytelling & Data Exploration: Strong ability to turn data into compelling narratives and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to prioritize and drive strategic initiatives, with a strong focus on delivering actionable insights that lead to business impact.
- Strong Analytical Background: You can identify which analytics solutions fit best to solve each problem. You’re rigorous yet practical. You can clearly explain complex concepts to non-DS stakeholders, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Collaboration & Influence: Experience working closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams to influence and drive data-driven decisions.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Demonstrated leadership in driving data-driven strategies.
- Bilingual: Fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a multilingual environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced industry such as FinTech.

- Experience with the crypto industry
- Experience as a Data Scientist

What You Will Do

You will foster a data-driven culture throughout the retail organization. You believe in the power of data to inspire innovative solutions and make impactful business decisions. As a Senior BI Manager, you will:

- Drive strategic BI initiatives: Own the development and execution of the Business Intelligence strategy for Retail. Lead analytics initiatives that support product, design and strategic decision making across all products in the retail business.
- Foster cross-functional relationships and decision-making: Build and maintain strong relationships with Group Product Managers, Designers, and other key stakeholders to ensure that data insights inform critical business decisions.
- Champion and lead Advanced Analytics projects: Based on insights from dashboard usage and business meetings, identify and lead new Advanced Analytics initiatives that deliver value through experimentation and machine learning.
- Lead, mentor, and guide your team: Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to your direct reports, helping them develop their technical and business skills. Set clear objectives and build a roadmap for your team's projects, prioritizing initiatives based on the potential to impact the company’s mission.
- Define and measure business metrics: Collaborate closely with Product Managers (PMs) to establish business metrics that guide product teams, identify areas of opportunity, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Build and maintain high-impact dashboards and data visualizations: Partner with business, operations, and product teams to create user-friendly dashboards that guide data-driven decisions. Your visualizations will turn complex data into actionable insights.
- Drive data storytelling and cultural change: Deliver insightful reports and presentations to key stakeholders, helping spread a data-driven mindset across the organization. Design training programs to ensure Retail builds data skills that empower them to be data-driven autonomously.
- Optimize and manage LookML (SQL) structures: Enhance the current LookML codebase by creating and improving SQL tables and data models to ensure that Business Intelligence is efficient, scalable, and serves the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.

Your Team

You will oversee the activities of BI Analysts, BI Specialists and Senior BI Specialists, providing guidance and regularly offering expert advice on complex issues.
