We are seeking a highly skilled Feedmill Manager to join our team at Leslie Farms Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our feedmill, ensuring the production of high-quality feed products while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Feed Production and Quality Control
The Feedmill Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials are stocked and available for fulfillment of the mixing plan for each week. This includes ensuring that all raw materials delivered pass quality standards set forth by the company nutritionist.
Feedmill Operations and MaintenanceThe Feedmill Manager will conduct regular audits of weighing and mixing procedures to ensure that all rations are mixed accurately based on feed formula. Additionally, they will conduct semi-annual homogeneity tests to assure uniform mixing of macro and micro materials.
Equipment Maintenance and RepairThe Feedmill Manager will be responsible for conducting weekly inspections of all equipment to ensure they are in good running condition to minimize disruption in feed supply. They will also ensure that all spare parts are available and that preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment is conducted weekly.
Logistics and Supply Chain ManagementThe Feedmill Manager will arrange the timely delivery of mixed feeds to internal and external customers by arranging trucking schedules and loading and unloading crews.
Health and SafetyThe Feedmill Manager will implement all biosecurity protocols such as cleaning, disinfection, limits in personnel movement, spraying, and addition of feed sanitizers to ensure the feed materials and mixed products.
Inventory ManagementThe Feedmill Manager will ensure that all feed materials and finished products are properly piled to provide for a FIFO system and to prevent accidents inside the mill. They will also ensure that all feed materials are properly labelled to avoid errors and confusion during mixing operations.
Waste Reduction and ManagementThe Feedmill Manager will reduce wastage of mixed feeds by proper bagging in sacks and tote bags of good condition.
Reporting and Record KeepingThe Feedmill Manager will submit raw materials request to the farm accountant for timely replenishment weekly. They will also submit raw materials usage report, electricity usage report, and disposal report for any materials or feeds rejected or spoiled inside the mill.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in feedmill operations, quality control, and logistics. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
