Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Operations Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the batch schedule preparation, communication, and coordination across relevant teams within our Mercury landscape. This includes monitoring scheduled batch jobs and batch schedules, resolving any non-application scheduling conflicts, and providing end-to-end daily batch production reports. Additionally, you will produce monthly metrics on batch job executions, runtimes, and performance, highlighting any jobs that require attention and optimization. You will also provide trend analysis on job performance, highlighting challenges, risks, and business impact. Your analytical skills will enable you to analyze batch related incidents, escalate issues, and highlight improvement needs. Furthermore, you will capture and document requirements for production job schedule changes, respond quickly and knowledgeably to batch processing-related support, and notify the leadership team if any schedule change will affect the timely completion of any batch processing in the weekend critical path.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the MST Batch Operations Team during EST time zone.
  • Monitor scheduled batch jobs and batch schedules, resolving any non-application scheduling conflicts.
  • Support Financial month-end and year-end activities from the batch perspective.
  • Produce end-to-end daily batch production reports.
  • Produce monthly metrics on batch job executions, runtimes, and performance, highlighting any jobs that require attention and optimization.
  • Provide trend analysis on job performance, highlighting challenges, risks, and business impact.
  • Analyze batch-related incidents – escalation, highlight improvement needs.
  • Capture and document requirements for production job schedule changes.
  • Respond quickly and knowledgeably to batch processing-related support, managing incidents, reporting, and schedule requests in production (secondary in lower environments e.g. QA).
  • Notify the leadership team if any schedule change will affect the timely completion of any batch processing in the weekend critical path.
  • Provide regular timely updates to the MST Leadership as required.
  • Work with teams across MST to monitor system alerts, interfaces, and batch jobs and helping to resolve incidents in production and lower environments where appropriate.


Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal actively and efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure.
  • Very good understanding of the customer strategy, services, and business processes where it applies to batch processing.
  • Capabilities to analyze historic runtimes, identify, and present trends and propose improvements.
  • Data visualization skillset.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or other trouble ticket tools.
  • Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel including on a global, virtual basis.
  • IT background with experience across the SAP development life cycle with experience in different project phases.
