Wholesale Credit Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Counterparty Risk team in Buenos Aires. As a key member, you will work closely with the First Line of Defence and Collateral Operations across various Lines of Business to provide risk management oversight of financial collateral pools. You will collaborate with credit officers, the front office, and sales to make informed risk decisions regarding collateral/margining of derivatives portfolios, including margin methodology and calculation, asset eligibility, haircuts, enforceability, CSA negotiation, and identification of concentrations/relatedness.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Counterparty Risk team in managing margin and collateral risk, including regulatory margin, in-house margin, and collateral pool assessments.
- Monitoring exposures, identifying concentrated or concerning risk positions, and escalating appropriately.
- Understanding margining methodologies, conducting benchmarking analysis, and engaging senior traders to grasp trade and market dynamics.
- Supporting Sales and Trading in negotiating CSAs, mitigating collateral risk, and staying up-to-date on industry initiatives around margin methodologies.
- Providing ongoing support to Credit Officers on counterparty credit exposure for new deals with complex structures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, and/or Economics.
- Knowledge of risk management, including scenario analysis and stress testing, familiarity with NCMR, SIMM, VaR, or other margin methodologies.
- A good understanding of quantitative concepts relating to credit exposure, risk sensitivity, and stress testing.
- Demonstrated interest in global financial markets and strong intuition regarding their impact on our business.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, an inquisitive nature, and comfort in challenging current practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to leverage in executive governance and senior management forums.
