Job Description
The Mental Health Supervisor is responsible for providing clinically appropriate services under the clinical direction of the corporate Director, Behavioral Health. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and direction to mental health professionals, including hiring, scheduling, assigning duties, evaluating performance, disciplining, investigating inmate grievances, and discharging staff members.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with facility management officials and other stakeholders.
- Serving as a resource to the Wexford Health Corporate Director, Behavioral Health, relative to non-clinical aspects of behavioral health services at NMCD facilities.
- Participating in regional team meetings and teleconferences as requested.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current New Mexico license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or other appropriate mental health professional license.
- Current CPR certification.
- A Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling preferred.
- At least four (4) years prior clinical experience working with forensic clients; familiarity with relevant research literature, clinical assessments, procedures, and methods preferred.
