Project Manager Job Description

Lamont Bros. is seeking a skilled project manager to oversee residential remodel construction projects across the Portland area. As a project manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the design of projects, estimating costs, building schedules, and overseeing the logistical side of remodeling projects while in production.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a project manager in residential construction, a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to balance work on multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble budget estimates based on design plans
  • Create construction schedules for remodeling projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors
  • Understand permitting and jurisdictional requirements
  • Conduct internal review, pre-construction, and site-walk meetings
  • Coordinate between design team, production staff, subcontractors, and clients

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager in residential construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Ability to manage a flexible workflow and meet deadlines
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of building code in and around Portland, OR
  • Experience in jobsite hazard assessment
  • Knowledge of construction best practices including concrete, framing, cabinetry, tile, flooring, drywall, and finish carpentry
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and gas
