Job Title: Beam Physics Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Beam Physics Service Engineer to join our team at IBA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for beam calibration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities on the Proton Therapy site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the installation of IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site, focusing on beam-related equipment.
  • Perform beam-related equipment calibration following procedures.
  • Operate the system to obtain a beam that matches requirements.
  • Set and align Dosimetry tools.
  • Analyze data to diagnose potential technical issues.
  • Test and validate equipment according to specifications and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Manage beam-related commissioning activities, including Pencil Beam Scanning.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ensure the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services.
During the Customer Service Phase:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Operate the system and provide technical support to medical staff during QA, patient treatment, and clinical operations.
  • Ensure client requirements are met in terms of technical performance, timing, and safety.
  • Train customers and work in close collaboration with them on equipment maintenance and operations.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hardware and software equipment.
  • Upgrade and improve the system in collaboration with the R&D department.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Physics or engineering.
  • Experience in High Energy Physics, Particle Accelerators, or Medical Physics is a strong asset.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, MATLAB, and Monte-Carlo Simulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot large system issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
