Responsibilities
  • We are seeking an experienced AVP SRE and Cloud Solutions professional to lead our efforts in improving system reliability and accelerating cloud adoption.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing SRE strategy, driving visibility into KPIs, and proactively mitigating risks to application performance.
  • You will work closely with product teams to understand their needs and identify opportunities to improve application reliability and availability.
In this role, you will:Strategy & Leadership:
  • Create and manage initiatives to drive improvements in application availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
  • Design, build, and champion automated solutions to optimize application uptime with minimal human intervention.
  • Implement a comprehensive SRE strategy to ensure systems are highly available and reliable, minimizing downtime or disruption to business operations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could negatively impact system reliability and availability, developing contingency plans to minimize downtime.
  • Lead and manage a team of SRE and Cloud engineers, setting performance goals, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
Innovation & Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate SRE practices into product architecture and operations.
  • Collaborate with development team members to identify monitoring gaps, application performance improvement opportunities, and assist with troubleshooting problems.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure application performance, regularly reporting on these metrics to key stakeholders and other teams within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong experience in C# or Java programming languages.
  • A history of defining, implementing, and evaluating Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • AWS experience, including monitoring, networking, containerization, and infrastructure management.
  • Experience in SRE or similar roles, with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis, observability, and problem management.
  • Understanding of emotional intelligence components: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skill.
  • Experienced in agile software delivery models, site reliability engineering, operations support, incident management, cloud deployments, APM tooling, and change management.
  • Certification in CI/CD, DevOps automation, and test automation with a drive for continual learning.
  • Experience working in and coaching Agile Scrum teams.
  • Ability to articulate and lead performance engineering and observability activities.
  • Provide leadership for cloud engineering, provisioning, resource management, and cost management on Azure/AWS platforms.
  • Experience with AIOps and self-healing resiliency practices.
  • Ability to scope and lead creation of 'minimum viable products', prioritizing critical tasks, and utilizing test and learn approaches to iteratively deliver technical and business solutions.
  • Establish strong working relationships and build trust with peers.
  • Listen actively and communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Apply creative thinking and negotiations skills to develop solutions that are acceptable to different needs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7-10 years relevant IT experience.
  • 3+ years minimum experience working in AWS or Azure cloud environments.
  • 3-5 years technical leadership in large enterprises.
  • 2-4 years early career experience as a software developer.
  • Experience in financial services industry preferred.
  • Current or past experience leading the strategy of the Site Reliability Engineering function in a large organization.
