About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Manager to join our team at BAT. As a key member of our Corporate Affairs department, you will play a critical role in shaping our external and internal communications strategies to drive business growth and achieve our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans to support our corporate affairs activities, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute strategic communications campaigns that drive business results and enhance our reputation.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and messaging.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our business, industry trends, and market dynamics to inform communications strategies and tactics.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on communications-related matters, including media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management.
  • Manage and execute internal communications initiatives to engage and inform employees, including employee advocacy programs, internal communications campaigns, and change management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our company's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives and communicate these to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the ESG team to develop and execute communications strategies that support our ESG goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our company's brand and messaging guidelines to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our company's culture and values to ensure that communications strategies and tactics align with these principles.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, or a related field, with a strong track record of success in developing and executing communications strategies that drive business results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive communication content and present ideas effectively.
  • Strong media relations and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of urgency and a focus on delivering results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective communications strategies and tactics.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
