Job Title: Director of Travel Design

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Travel Design to join our team at H Elevation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the sales team and operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional travel experiences to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the sales team of Travel Designers and the Operations Team Leader, providing guidance and support to ensure the team meets accuracy and deadline targets.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Source and evaluate candidates for sales team roles, ensuring the best fit for our organization.
  • Travel Request Management: Review and allocate incoming travel requests among the sales team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the sales team meets accuracy and deadline targets, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel Package Development: Assist in finalizing travel packages, working closely with the sales team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Supplier Relations: Address and resolve sales team issues with suppliers, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Client Support: Provide support to the sales team with client interactions as required, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Sales Tools Development: Develop and enhance sales tools for improved efficiency, streamlining processes and increasing productivity.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to execute special inventory promotions, driving sales and revenue growth.
  • Training and Development: Participate in and deliver training sessions during team meetings, ensuring the sales team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Goal Setting: Contribute to establishing and implementing sales team and individual goals, aligning with the company's overall objectives.
  • Milestone Reviews: Conduct milestone reviews for sales team members, providing feedback and guidance for growth and development.
  • Collaboration: Maintain close collaboration with the Director of Operations, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Representation: Represent H Elevation at trade shows and sales events when necessary, promoting our brand and services.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate new contracts and foster relationships with suppliers, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Supplier Identification: Identify and screen potential new suppliers, ensuring they meet our high standards and requirements.
  • Agent Network Development: Forge relationships with premier agent networks, expanding our reach and increasing sales opportunities.
  • Reporting: Report directly to the CEO, providing regular updates and insights on sales performance and team progress.
Requirements:
  • Destination Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of Latin American destinations, including their culture, history, and attractions.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in high-end hospitality or boutique travel agency oriented to the American market (at least 3 years), with a proven track record of success.
  • Team Management: Proven experience managing a team, with a strong focus on leadership, communication, and collaboration.
  • Sales Skills: Excellent sales skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Availability: Availability for 30 to 40 hours per week with flexibility within office hours (9 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time - USA), with a preference for candidates based in Central/South America.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Reliability: Demonstrated reliability and ability to excel in a remote work environment, with a strong focus on productivity and results.
  • Leadership: A servant leadership work ethic, prioritizing team success over personal gain, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.
