Job Description:
This position is contingent on contract award. As the National Patient Safety Quality Management Director, you will provide director-level management, expertise, and oversight of a comprehensive quality, health, safety, and risk management program for medical services contracts and units.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of clinical experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse and three years of experience in risk management, patient safety, and quality management. Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are encouraged but not required. The successful candidate will work under the administrative direction of the National Medical Director and under the clinical supervision of the National Deputy Medical Director.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a comprehensive quality, health, safety, and risk management program.
- Ensure medical units' obligations under prevailing state and federal guidelines pertaining to quality, health, and safety are met.
- Develop and implement a proactive standardized Risk Management Plan that addresses risk and incident management across all medical units.
- Supervise and manage the duties and activities of the Patient Safety Risk Manager at each sector/region.
- Collaborate with the National Medical Director to complete Root Cause Analyses of all medical sentinel events and develop implementation plans.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for all incidents and create quarterly summary reports.
- Lead national medical quality management meetings and oversee the completion of minutes, attendance, and follow-up items.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program.
- Current, active, valid, and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by any United States jurisdiction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from an approved organization.
- At least five years of clinical experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse and three years of experience in risk management, patient safety, and quality management.
